Message from Jane Fahey

Dear Parents and Students,

Here is a question for you to discuss with your child.  What is a school?    Is a school the bricks and mortar that constitute the structural building?  Is a school the books and desks and paper and pencils that you find inside?

I maintain that a school building becomes a school when all the people work together to create the magic of learning.  Walt Disney once said, “You can dream, create, design and build the most incredible building in the world but it is the people who make a difference.”  Certainly, it takes inquisitive children, talented staff, and supportive parents to make a difference so each child can learn.  Without people, our school is just an empty building, no better or worse than other buildings in town.  With our community working together, we become a school where each child can reach his/her special potentials.

I encourage you to be an active participant in our school.  Make learning a high priority in your home.  Take the time to discuss lessons with your child.  Play math games.  Read a book.  Help out at school as a volunteer.  Keep the lines of communication open with your child’s teacher.  Attend school events.  Encourage your child to participate in special activities.

We are, ultimately, a partnership as we lead our children on a life journey of learning.  Your child’s path begins with the important job of teaching and modeling you do at home.  It continues in one of the highest performing schools in SAD17 with a staff that goes beyond expectations to help each child learn and grow.  With your support it is bound to be a stellar year!

Sincerely,

Jane Fahey, Principal
